Module 3

Rianna Mercer - Exploring how P5.js and the MakeyMakey can work together to create an interactive digital experience.

Activity 1

The square changed color based on what key is pressed on the MakeyMakey It further changes the colors based on what is pressed on the MakeyMakey When the click button on the MakeyMakey is pressed it radiates circles When the click on the MakeyMakey is pressed it displays a shooting star The background color changes color and the circles can be dragged The stars twinkle The stars turn into random colors The circle moves based on what keys are pressed on the MakeyMakey Projectiles shoot out when the circle is moved using the keys on the MakeyMakey Circles and projectiles appear when the click button is pressed on the MakeyMakey The circles change sizes when they're clicked Only one projectile shoots out when the MakeyMakey is pressed The circle follows the mouse around and can be clicked using the MakeyMakey When the MakeyMakey is clicked it shoots out projectiles from the circle which can create a cool effect It changes shape between a torus and square when the MakeyMakey is clicked The cube changes orientation when it is clicked using the MakeyMakey arrows Particles float around the screen and the torus orientation can change based on what MakeyMakey arrows are pressed The particles become more eccentric when the MakeyMakey is clicked When the MakeyMakey is clicked it changes to a different shape A bar appears as the MakeyMakey is pressed The circle changes size depending on how hard the MakeyMakey is pressed The background changes color and the circle also changes color when the MakeyMakey is clicked The background gradually changes color The background can change color when the MakeyMakey is clicked Particles shoot out from the center and when the MakeyMakey is clicked the get bigger

Activity 2

For my first attempt I just experimented with copper tape to see how it would work with the MakeyMakey. I added a second copper tape to build off the one. I added a third copper tape to build off the other two. I added a fourth copper tape to build off the other three. This is how the four copper tapes affect the P5. Each copper tape changes one direction of the circle. Pressing down on the sticky note activates the MakeyMakey. Touching the two sticky notes together activates the MakeyMakey. This was an attempt I tried that failed. It failed because I forgot to connect it to Earth. This is how it affects the P5 code. In class I figured out that I was conductive by connecting the alligator to myself. I created a heart out of felt and conductive fabric that affects the P5 when touched. I turned the heart into a bracelet that can be worn. It easily broke though. I created a little remote thing that has a button to change the P5. I added a second button that has a different affect on the P5 code when touched. This is the wiring behind the remote to show how it is connected to the MakeyMakey. Expanding on my remote idea. I created an up arrow button that moves the circle up when it's clicked. I added a right arrow that moves the circle to the right when the right arrow is clicked. I added a left arrow that moves the circle to the left when the left arrow is clicked. I added a down arrow that moves the circle down when the down arrow is clicked. When one side of the Rubik's Cube is touched, it moves the P5 cube. I added copper tape to another side so when it is touched, it moves the P5 cube in a direction similar to that. I added copper tape to another side so when it is touched, it moves the P5 cube in a direction similar to that. I added copper tape to another side so when it is touched, it moves the P5 cube in a direction similar to that. I added copper tape to another side so when it is touched, it moves the P5 cube in a direction similar to that. I explored using a glove that has conductive fingertips and I connected it to the MakeyMakey so when it is clicked it changes the P5.
